997.2 TTS vs 991 TTS - Both GIAC Stage 2+

Looking forward to hanging out with my brother Mark again next weekend at a private 1/4 mile drag event at Famoso - although rain is predicted

With both cars switching to rear MT's, I'm sure it will be closer than our Sunday Shift Sector race:

For this event the car was on factory original plugs and coil packs @ 37,000 miles and it was misfiring. GMG installed new plugs and coils just in time for my event with them at the Thermal Club this Wednesday. This is a track car by the way. Just happens to be pretty quick in the straights

TTSEssex is infamous around these parts
Wow.. Your 997 is mental..! Sorry if I missed this but are both running stock turbos? Are 997 turbos bigger that 991 turbos? Curious why the 991 can't get 600 whp to match when both running stage 2 tune?

What's 0-60 on these beasts?

Long have a couple of mods more than this 991... In a 1/2 mile if both have same mods they made more or less the same mph.

Correct. Longboarder has water meth. The GIAC Stage 2+ 991 Turbo S did not. Water meth makes a big time power difference. But on Sunday at Shiftsector these two cars posted virtually identical traps

Thank you. Yes stock turbos on both. From what I understand, the 997.2 turbos are bigger than the 991’s.

Mine was getting out of the hole quick. At the same event I beat the Porsche 918 up to around 100-110 mph until the 918 started running away.

My 0-60’s on the street (with Toyo R888s) are generally 2.5 to 2.6 second range on the vBox but I have quicker numbers on the drag strip. 0-100 mph times are mid-5’s. At this Shift Sector event I was doing 0-60’s in 2.7 to 2.8 and 0-100mph in high 5’s. It’s harder to launch at Shift Sector since there is a lot of rocks, sand and debris on the launch pad, not to mention painted surfaces to guide the planes for landings.

How ironic....Matt takes the 720S out for a test drive and guess what.....yes...does one launch and CEL comes on...I'm sorta surprised he still posted the video..
