Agree. The goal of the event is actually not to race each other because you get more points for actually winning the race. All of us will be really close on the ET. So strategically we should line up against helpless 1,000 HP domestics
The way to do the best is just hotlap and do 40 runs. Whichever of us has the ***** to do that will likely win the $7K. I did 11 runs and got 2nd place the first year only losing to a 1,400 wheel Camaro that did 15 runs.

Mark, I'll see if I can get you a pass. I'm supposed to be in line for any backups for you.
It's going to be fun guys. I hope it's not too cold or wet. If not the track should be decent enough. I'm calling it now. Whatever happens happens. No categories, disclaimers, sandbagging, excuses or anything!

Most of the cars were trailered and could only manage a few passes. A lot of cars broke. It rained on us but the event started at 11:30am. I took it easy to start and was testing stuff like tire pressure and meth flow but at like 3:45 pm I decided to just hop lap and got like 7-8 runs in less than 30 minutes from looking at my timeslips.
So someone with a fast pass could conceivable get 30+ runs if the event starts sharp at 10am.
Nah if you want you will easily get a dozen even taking brakes. It's slow to start but then it moves pretty quickly in the afternoon.
I tracked all day Wednesday at The Thermal Club and I was only boosting peak 28 vs 31. Dunno why. Gonna reset adaptations to see if that fixes it. Otherwise yes running perfect.
Good news is the temps tomorrow are really low, even for Famoso...which is good for density altitude (making horsepower). Famoso has a machine that cleans and heats the launch pad. But they only bring it out a couple times during the day. Also, they aren't like ATCO, where they spray VHT and use torches to heat up the launch pad. Instead, Famoso use a mop to move around the rocks on the launch pad lol.
I've always run with street tires so I did a 10.2 at 135.6 here in December and a 10.2 at 134.4 at Fontana in August. In order to run 9's our cars will need at least a 1.45 60-foot time. My best at Famoso is 1.61. Every tenth shaved off the 60-foot time generally yields a 2-tenths improvement in ET. I have better tires now. Gonna run really low low low tire pressure in all 4 tires which will hurt trap speed but will get me better traction. Going to initially start tomorrow at 15psi and work higher. Basically going to run my tires basically flat lol!

Champion's 9.83 run had a 110.X 1/8 mile and a 135.1 1/4 mile trap. They used Mickey Thompson rear tires and cut a 1.4 60-foot time.
Well Im sure some new bests may be made at this event. Who knows maybe Longboarder will hit a 9.9 since accordingly he's trapping over 110 in the 1/8th at over 80 degree summer temps ....
For some reason my car runs better in warm weather. The 1/4 mile on that same run was 137 and the 60-130 was 6.4.
But none of that is as important as the launch. 9's are impossible unless a 1.4 60-foot is achieved That's the equivalent of 0-60 in 2.1-2.2 seconds...so not very easy.
Anyway my car is going under the knife when I get back from Famoso so I can be as powerful as you guys now. Gotta keep up with this insane kit you put together Sam!
Jejeje buena...

When did you run 137 traps? Didn't see the thread... and with "some trouble" like always? Lol JK
