For anyone thats interested the guys at F1 motorsports were running a new 488 it ran 152mph. I was kinda disappointed I thought it would run a little faster

Also my wife and 1 of my sons were running a new Camaro SS completely Stock the car went a best of 138.71 with passenger.

 

Good to know Mark, thanks for sharing. I always like to look at benchmarks like 1/4 mile, 1/2 mile and 60-130 when looking at cars so that info is great

Something must have been wrong with the car as that is way low

 

+1 it's nice to look at it comparatively. Winds must havehad a lot to do with it. I think that's a 158 to 160+ car. Right there with the Huracan or a tad faster. Any Huracan's there?

 

Exactly. Another car for comparison would be the stock McLaren 650s which has about the same horsepower

 

I thought it was really slow as well. Gidi had his white Hurican it's got an exhaust and carbon fiber seats, I think he's got a tune. But I never paid attention to what it ran

Wow Mark. When did the 488 run? That's a disaster. I ran both Huracan's and they were running high 150's. My car was running terrible and I was running 158 and just beat their trap. My buddies 488 it a screamer. If mine runs a 152, she'll be for sale.

 

That's what I thought. If anything the 488 which is rated like 50 more crank horsepower than the Huracan should be out trapping it by at least a few miles per hour.

Sorry to hear your car was only running 158. That seems pretty slow for yours. AlThough it is right on par with the Cobb stage 2 991!Turbo that ran at wannagofast Ocala

 

Yeah thanks. I ran 161 consistently at the last event. I couldn't get the car to run through first gear with out hitting the rev limiter and bogging while using launch control. Tried 6 times and it cut out and bogged all 6 times. Very frustrating. Don't understand what the hell it's doing or what to do about it.

 

Hey Arnie...If you had to bed right now would you say your 991 is faster or the 488? I liked your review on the 488. On paper it's a total beast. Hopefully at the next event there will be some good comparisons and steady conditions.

 

Great question Sam. My gut tells me they would be very close with a slight edge to the 488, especially from a roll. Like it has been said, Hurancans and 650s's trap around 160 with the edge going to the 650s. Confusing.

 

Yeah. And now the 570's are in the game with the hat-trick! All of these cars are so amazing and each has an edge in it's own way. Definitely exciting!

Arnie I saw him in line around 11ish on Sunday and I asked him he said it went 152 maybe they had issue I don't know? I would have guessed high 150"s to 160

Did you see there grey and white wrapped 991 when the head light flew out?

Also every one was slower with the wind. But the shifting that's another issue
