I have a BEL STiR+ im my ML63 along with a 3/2 ALP jammer and have the adaptive cruise, lane assist etc on the Merc with no issues...other than the other radar equipped cars on the road ...and needless to say this is becoming very annoying..so much so that this new (to me) Turbo S will be going in for a custom Stinger Radar system and ALP jammer system in a week or so..and not to jump on this thread I will post a seperate topic during and after the install with hopefully many pics and results .

PAS does come on for me, but only on the track. Trust me it works to well and sometimes causes a distraction.
I actually need to start a thread to see if there is a way to turn it off for track use

We are talking a $2000 custom install system vs a $650 windshield mounted detector here. Apples and oranges.

What I noticed is that when I would speed up and no on was around me, I would start getting K band alerts. It happened with regularity on acceleration if the ACC was left on. I turned ACC off and those completely disappeared.
Totally agree: apples and oranges. I considered a custom install too. It clearly would be a better look and perhaps better performance. Plus laser jamming.

I am curious whether people with custom installs and ACC are triggering their radar detectors when using their own ACC. Turning off K band in my area is not an option.

I also get why some in the radar community are unhappy with the "noise" created by ACC.

The noise can be filtered. There are currently two radar detectors which are quite good at filtering - Stinger VIP and Antilaser Net Radar.

The Antilaser people literally tested lots of ACC and BSM systems to identify their precise frequency signature and then stored the ones which are outside of the law enforcement frequency parameters and filtered them out. From what I understand the only one they can't filter is a specific model of the Chevy Traverse which happens to have the same frequency as law enforcement (and even then not all of them just a couple of model years).

Bel/Escort have been too lazy to do this.

I am having a full Antilaser setup installed in my car this week. It will have 5 laser jammer heads (3 front, 2 rear), and separate front and rear radar antennas plus a dedicated 4.7" color display. Will post pictures and info once installed.

I have PAS turned off in both Cayennes. Bad experience. Squeezed into a tight space in passing lane and it activated. Almost got rear ended. Guy behind me gave me a lot of hand signals and rightfully so. In his eyes, I pulled in front of him in the fast lane and hit the brakes. I do love the active cruise though.

It must've been tight space.

PAS has activated a couple of times for me when ACC was on and set to closely follow the car in front. When the car in front braked quickly PAS. activated. That same scenario has never happened in the TTS. I assume it has to do with the breaking capabilities of the Cayenne.
