Adaptive cruise control - guilty pleasures

This may be a controversial question but who else has adaptive cruise control on their 911? I ordered it on my 2014 CD and I purchased a 2015 TTS off the lot with ACC included on the car I otherwise wanted.

I have actually found it useful driving in city traffic. The notion of having this type of technology on a car like the TTS just seems wrong to me.

Anyone else enjoying ACC?

Hate it because of the radar pollution it puts out.

If you would buy the filtering module from Escort your issues would be gone

Love it.

I no longer buy cars without it. It makes the traffic driving home each evening tolerable and a much more mindful affair.

I also "need" ventilated seats, but that'd a different story.

Different strokes. I have it on my 2016. I omitted it from my 2017 build when I ordered it. I don't use cruise much and I hate the style hit with that huge orb in the grill.

Although, I guess it isn't any worse than the front plate NJ makes our cars wear...

I can turn K band off but it's not advisable because here in Texas some local yokels and sheriffs use K band. In fact, I have noticed it on several units here in Travis County where I live.

I use it all the time. Problem is when I get in a car without it I almost forget I have to use the brake. Also bothers me it is standard in some Hyundai models.

I'm using an escort max 360. The adaptive cruise control does not trigger alerts in my own vehicle. Are older radar detectors actually doing that?

All I know is that I had a MB with adaptive cruise control and when I want to
install a Escort 9500 CDI / Laser Jamer, I had to purchase an additional module to filter out the adaptive cruise control signal.

Mine came with the car so I have no idea if it's in there or not. In any case, keeping the ACC off lessens the K band alerts but in city traffic it's always going off because of the collision warning systems on certain vehicles, most notably GMC Tahoe and Escalade as well as the Audi's.

First of all the 9500ci is a built in and so the radar sensors are in the front grill close to the ACC unit. I don't think the detector in the 360 max is any better than the one in the 9500ci but the 360 has the front/back detector. The 9500ci also has laser detector/shifters front and back. We are talking a $2000 custom install system vs a $650 windshield mounted detector here. Apples and oranges.

What I noticed is that when I would speed up and no on was around me, I would start getting K band alerts. It happened with regularity on acceleration if the ACC was left on. I turned ACC off and those completely disappeared.

I got it. I have used it in traffic, but the real reason a bought a car with ACC is because PAS (auto braking collision prevention). Haven't seen that feature in action yet, and hopefully never will, but I'm glad it's there. One day it will be mandatory on all cars.
