Rear Tires Ideas for Drag Racing/Airport Events
My r888's are coming tomorrow so I will get a lot of testing done.
GIAC ended up dropping power down a little on race mode in preparation of the meth install. I used the same tune (a little lower power than yours) but the same one used by the guy that just did 711 wheel on champions dyno. That guy was running a meth / water mix and I'm going to run 100% meth and don't want to blow the motor with too much power.

imo, a must have.

I'm going to take a little longer and wait for Tom to send me a Champion Tubi exhaust first. I'll do the exhaust switch, meth and R888 tires at the same time.
Should be a blast!

If you're using the car for things other than just driving events 675 wheel HP sounds like a much safer power level than 711.
i don't know who's car it is. The risk vs performance equation i currently have is the one I'm comfortable with. We all know how expensive somewhat marginal increases in power can get. It's a personal choice issue for me.

I too could have had the car tuned higher than it is but instructed them not to do that to keep myself well within the margin of safety. I'm not adding any more power.
Here is mine.
I launched the car on the street by just flooring it moving at about 10mph without traction control coming right out of a turn. I was going sideways and had to lift. I will not disengage it again or make sure the weight is evenly distributed. Caught me by surprise
Did it a few more time expecting it, it was controlable.Mine reached 711hp with 85% meth + 93. I wonder 100% meth + race fuel will do in terms of power and longevity.
I think you'll love it!

Thx for the heads up. I'm pretty good at optimizing the launch on the car. I've got a few thousand launches using LC on my 997.2 Turbo S with R888s on all 4 wheels. I pedal through the launch it's now second nature for me. It's a bit more difficult to launch the 991 with the crap PZero tires but I have fun getting it sideways (on purpose) in first gear.
For airstrip events, the PZero's just wont cut it even with a lot of work on my part. Once the meth system is installed it will be that much worse. So the R888's are a logical choice.
There were four 991's with centerlocks at the airstrip event I went to this weekend and three of them had R888's. They all launched really well.
