Added HP on 991.2 Turbo
Added HP on 991.2 Turbo
Hi
I have a 991.2 turbo Non S
What kind of bump of hp can I get from these independant modification
ECU tune from Sam
Catless exhaust
Headers
Ipd plenum
Ipd y pipe
Intercoolers
Bmc filters
Is it possible to get an approximative estimation for each mod and fot the total if everything is made all in once
Thanxs

If it helps, I'll have dyno results before/after.
Maybe Sam can break down the HP per mod.
Hi gents, hi Alex!
I think this will be a nice thread to discuss in and refer to.
So this all will vary depending on several factors. Product brand/design, desired stage of power, fuel and a few other typical things. I can tell you the .2 is doing better S or not than the .1 through even better VE and engine updates. The TTS having larger turbo's is a real game-changer! The main thing is to not get out your calculator and add up manufacturer claims. Some are a bit optimistic and also different components perform and add in different areas. Or simply one will claim max gain and that may not happen until 1000hp. I love that we have brought back the stage system as it really helps to see things clearer whether you want to find your sweet spot or simply go in stages. Here is my best try initially without talking tooo much haha...
- ECU tune from Sam...On the .2 we are seeing 5+% more efficiency and power than the .1 which is a lot. Your main upgrade.
- Catless exhaust...With reduced heat and backpressure this is always the big help on Porsche VTG cars. This will be your first and most important upgrade with tuning. Exhaust design can vary although most are great. We have seen lots of valved exhausts producing quite a compromise and at times a dangerous one.
- Headers...Good equal length manifolds will produce a total change in sound character on almost any exhaust. Especially proper merge style systems. Reduced drone and low rpm boomy-ness (new word), More pitch and hight rpm character as well as all-around smoother sound. They add about 12-15hp documented. lastly and importantly on cars making more power (stage 3 and on) they equalize manifold pressure and help drop EGT. The factory units are designed to hold in heat and are quite effective. So when you add boost and cyl pressure it now can become too much only to build up the more you push the car. Some header designs have been proven to lose response, tq and are just there. I have had several guys do them after a few miles to experience the difference and it was spot on.
- Ipd plenum, Ipd y pipe...Proven and loved by those who use it. I run it on all my packages stage 3 and up with proven gains of 25-50hp and even more tq. You will feel IPD mostly in the low to mid range.
- Intercoolers...There are a few proven great ones and a few not so much hehe. A must to push past just exhaust and so effective that you bump up an entire stage. I get 40-50hp adding IC's and tuning for them. Also you will of'course build IAT much slower and maintain lower temps for more consistency.
- Bmc filters...Always nice for throttle response and a few ponies ; )
Please let me know if I missed anything or if anyone has any further questions! Sometimes a good consult will help visualize your goals and find the best path to get there.
