AIM Performance/ES Motor Built 991
I didn't know anyone was cracking these things open. All I've heard is how when they fail, Porsche only replaces the whole tranny.
Good to know someone can actually open and strengthen these PDK's.
At what wheel power level is this recommended?
I had stock pdk at 750 whp. I suspect trans will slip much above that, but I defer to the experts (Emre, AIM, etc.). I'm sure torque matters as well. I just write checks and drive.
I highly suggest you find a shop you trust, and...trust them. The piece-meal approach doesn't work. The value is in the entire package, and the reputation and commitment to making it work behind it.
yes I know but not in the US yet. both of these new builds are already trapping higher than the 160MPH blue EK 991, so should be 8 sec capabale. Dave went 163.4 on VBox and TSM went 162.1 on Dragy, 160+ is FLYING.

As long as you can get them to shift and make 1 good run down the track, before the PDK explodes the case is super thin. Emre needs to make a new stronger case!
Torque obviously crack things lol.
Let me share an example; my FBO ES700 997.2 made on the dyno a 750wtq. Emre didn't like it as he saw it too early in the rev range and although that makes crazy kick and acceleration feel, it wasn't totally safe for the 100% stock engine. Hence, he delayed that torque peak and made the power delivery curve much smoother.
