When is your Turbo expected to land in your hands? Would love to see some photos & hear your first driving impressions.
Picked up the 991. Initial impressions:
It's most certainly a "different level" in every respect. Refinement, luxury, feel, etc. Makes the 996 feel fairly antiquated. It's a rocket in stock form. Fast as hell and then docile like a Camry when you want it to be. Definitely too quiet for my tastes. The 991 feels very different in the torque, the way it puts the power down and in the fast PDK shifting. Not as fast as the 996 at the moment but close. So smooth in the power delivery and gear changes. It's also way more stable and forgiving at speed. 120mph in the 996 feels like you're doing 120mph. In the 991, you feel like you're going 100mph in comparison. I can't wait to have more sound and power out of the thing. I already have goodies on the way to fix that.
I can tell I'll miss the more raw, analog, visceral feel and sound of the 996. My 996 was a beast and also sounded the business. I'll miss rowing gears. At the same time, I'm comparing a built 996 hot rod to a bone stock modern 991. Apples to oranges.
In summary: Definitely a whole new level with the 991. You also lose certain characteristics and feel of the older car. Some of what I'll miss. With that said, once the 991 is louder and even faster, I think I'll get over it all pretty quickly though.

Huge congrats to you. I've been fortunate enough to get extensive time behind the wheel of 991 Turbo, 991 GT3, & 991 GT3RS - all feel very different and the Turbo came away as my favorite just because of the ease of use in daily driving. Uncomfortable seats in the GT3 & RS were a no go for me & the NA engine didn't have the punch of the Turbo.
Now that you have the car, if you order with me before the end of Black Friday I can build you any lightweight monoblock set of HRE's or ANRKY's in about 10 days on the house (which is a $2k service).
Yeah, I think I'm settled. Going with some brushed titanium...should be close to this:
I think I'm liking that Techart rear wing too! (just say no)
that looks sweet!!!
....Although a darker color might offer a little more contrast to a white car.... I was Sooo against doing black wheels, just because everyone has them on almost every car out there.... but once I finally gave in to black, nothing looked better than (Gloss Black) HREs on my mineral white M4.... The contrast definitely made the car look more menacing.
All pictures above except the 4th picture is mine... I switched to BMW gold carbon ceramics. My M4 is below:
(sorry guys, didn’t meant to spam your posts with M4 photos.... I do have a Porsche Turbo S 😂 This series of photos was only intended to illustrate the different wheel colors on the same white car)

Just bought this car and it came with brushed silver wheels. It works and it's a classy color combo, but it wayyy too vanilla for me. Might refinish these in satin black or buy a set of black 20's.
Regarding your car, IMO the satin gold works as in the example you provided. Exterior and interior are like different rooms in a house and you can have different themes and color combos. And the yellow PCCB calipers tie in the satin gold on the exterior.
I have to admit that don’t hate this though....
(Maybe I should have bought another white car?)

Dude, you're not helping my decision!
Actually, very helpful post, thank you!
Personally, I ran black wheels on my Z06, my 996 Turbo (BBS F1's, Signature Forged SV103's) and had black wheels on my wife's 981 Boxster S. I do like the contrast but have just tired of the black wheel look. Beyond the contrasted "sinister" look, they just don't stand out enough to me. What I mean by that is the wheel details are mostly lost and they just kind of drown out in lighting and photo's.
These days, I like seeing the wheel detail as much as possible and I like the wheels to shine/pop as much as they can. With that said, I also want as much contrast as possible against the white car too.
I ran champagne gold wheels on the 996 turbo and really liked that look. I struggle going that route with the 991 however, due to the red interior. Sometimes it would be cool and other times, perhaps seem/feel way over the top. I dunno, my initial impression. With that said, I went to Signature Forged SV103 "brushed black triple tint" wheels on the 996 Turbo and tired of the look in a week, lol. I ended up putting the gold wheels back on and am now selling the old SV103's. I hope I don't have a repeat "change my mind" experience with the 991.
Thus, the dilemma. What color pops, shows the wheel details and yet still contrasts against white paint?
- Gold
- Light Bronze
- Brushed dark or titanium
- Other?

This line above instantly made me think of the car below. The lighter the wheel finish the more details are brought out of it. Polished Clear HRE's on a white 991 is jaw dropping.

Thanks David...but you also missed the "contrast" part.
Sure, brushed cleared shows the wheel details the best but there really is little contrast against white paint.
I had brushed cleared wheels on my old white 996tt and got rid of them quickly. Classy but too muted and plain for my tastes.
What other HRE finishes do you think fits the bill?
These are Polished Clear but I do understand your point. It's a difficult balance between getting a wheel finish light enough that it shows off the details but also dark enough from to contrast from white. I wanted to show the Turbo above because it's a new twist on the idea of the wheel setup where you allow the brakes to pop & add the desired contrast.
I have a few of other ideas as well, give me a call you know the number
