Is it really that bad, was thinking about getting a TTS since I like the DSG on
the GTR so much especially the 2011.
Can't wait for people to start seeing these cars in flesh.
Looks impressive so far.
Drivers that attend schools, DE's, etc are going to yearn for a more direct connection to the car because they understand the behavior of the car in a given set of circumstances. That puts you squarely in the MINORITY though and the manufacturers don't build many cars for us, they build them for the masses (for the most part).
For those that just have the bank account and buy one because it's a TTS - Lord help them (and me when they're driving nearby)! I WANT them to have the nanny controls!
I don't think he means all or nothing. For most of us, a simple Traction Control will suffice, tires spin, cut power, straighten car, add power.
But when the computers start taking control of everything (I.E. Steering) the car becomes a roadblock between the driver actually feeling the road they are driving on.
We are not talking about going back to a 996 GT3, but just having PSM, not PASM blah blah blah on top of torque vectoring etc. does not make this a drivers car, which is what Porsche built it's brand on. And unless you are fairly new to DE driving, most of the stability stuff will go off anyways before you get on the track.

As per the comments above, I dont even look at the new non GT 911s as things for the track, I just view them as "road grand touring" cars with serious ability (And Im going to pick up a 2010 turbo as soon as winter of 2011 is over!). Thusly, I dont mind the random muck going on with the newer cars. However, if any of these particularly "helpful to the subpar driver" adds make it to the new GT series of cars...I will be incredibly disappointed. Dez, whats up man! Its been WAY too long.
