power steering plus necessary?

I had to get it because my car is designated to be driven by both my wife and I. She has broken both wrists in an accident and they didn't heal properly. For parking it is necessary for her. I love it for parking also and there is no difference at speed to the feel. I think well worth it.
I do not have it on my 911 but do have it on the Macan, not sure if the 911 needs it for my application but I can understand why people like it. I think this is a personnel choice either way. So here we are, 4 pages and I still don't know if it is better...

LOL. As you said, it's personal choice. No right or wrong, but I think the OP asked if it was necessary, not better.
