Located in the Angeles Crest Forest in the southern California area of Pasadena/La Cresenta.
We do drive up every Sunday have coffee/breakfast at Newcomb's ranch for any local drivers that would like to join us.

If I read about a head-on collision on Angeles Crest I'll have a good idea who it was.

The danger is that you have a lot of cars in succession moving pretty fast on a road with a fair number of blind turns.

Im the video their are a fair number of cars pulled off to the side in the other direction that could pop out at the wrong time.

We all have fun, it's clearly a beautiful road but as James Dean said shortly before he died - "...be careful out there, the life you save could be mine."

I drive the ACH often and I hate to say it, but you're doing it wrong. If you wan to drive at 9/10ths get up early and hit Big Tujunga just as the sun comes up. You'll avoid all the traffic, cyclists and police. Also this way the only lives you'll risk are your own. You'll have to go past Newcombs and double back because they won't be open yet, but hey it's just more driving fun.

After you eat at Newcomb's, continue on to Wrightwood, then past the 15 Fwy. to Lake Silverwood. Keep going. Go up the side of Big Bear Mtn to Big Bear City (Hwy 38). Drive/ride down the North side of the mountain to Hwy 18. Drop down to the 15, then do the return run. Instead of stopping at La Crescenta, take Big Tujunga Canyon road to Sunland. The whole route is about a 250 miles long; done it many times. If snow: don't go.
