Secondary cat delete v cat delete x pipe
Secondary cat delete v cat delete x pipe
I’m considering two options. First is Quicksilver cat delete pipes. Second is Fabspeed secondary cat delete x pipe. Looking for pros and con comparison. I can get the Quicksilver pipes for $500 used . The Fabspeed pipes are $1500. What will be the sound difference and what would be the power difference? These are both for a 2016 V8Vantage GTS.

Go with the cat delete if you want to wake it up, retains the Aston sound, but more. X pipe will quiet it down and smooth it out, it will lose the Aston sound, it will wake up at higher RPM's. Apples and Oranges. I installed x pipe and replaced with cat delete about a week later. My opinion, many will disagree.
I have quicksilver cat delete pipes & replaced OEM H-pipe in the middle with x-pipes from VelocityAP. I love the sound of my V8 vantage, still has the V8 sound but with exotic higher pitch added with mid section x-pipe. Also using OEM Sport rear box with valves bypassed.
We will have to compare someday.
I watched this the other day which compares straight through, X-pipe and H-pipe on a DB9. They went with straight through in the end:

I just installed VelocityAP CAT deletes on my 2011 V8 Vantage Sportshift that has a Quicksilver exhaust, but I believe it was the quiet 'touring' muffler. The VelocityAP pipes are absolute quality, but my main concern was the two month delivery was quite a bit more than that, actually not a huge concern because it made little difference being late for my timing. In my opinion the sound was well worth the investment - just enough to be where I'm satisfied. As far as any power difference, I can't feel anything different.

Did you go with the cat delete x pipe or the straight cat delete pipes?
