Isn't the 'frame' of the 997 WB the same as with the NB, just different suspension geometry along with wider rear wheels? I didn't think there was anything differentiating the frame/platform between NB & WB.

And let me take it back a step: the 991 platform is 100% new...not based on previous 996/997 generations.

Also note that the 991 RWD cars have a width of 71.18, whereas the WB 997 cars are 72.91. The 991 RWD cars have the same width as 997 NB cars. Somehow people are thinking that the 991 RWD is now as wide as the 997 WB. It's not. The front track of the 991 has increased, but the rear is the same as the 997.

There will be a WB 991. You can really see more aggressive rear quarters on the 991 Turbo spy shots.

Sounds like a salesman trying to sell a 991S NOW...or just talking out of his a$$. All comments I've heard from 2 dealers in DFW are that if I like the WB look, to hold on...

Frankly I always wondered why they just didn't add it on as "kit".. so you could tag it onto any car - why limit it to a 4WD drive. Anyhow should be interesting to see what happens.

It looks to me like the 997 GTS and Turbo had/have a with of 72.91, but the 997 carrera 4's also have a with of 71.18.

Just the same, looks like there is more room for a wider 991.

My guess is that I was being subjected to a bit of both! Lets hope the DFW folks are better informed.
