Appearance of the 991
I saw the 991 for the first time today.
I didn't sit in it or drive it yet, but I do like the appearance.
IMO, it continues the trend towards becoming sleeker and less "bug/frog" like, but it still looks enough like the past 911s to properly be part of the lineage.
It does look kind of big, but I think in a good intimidating way, and still within the bounds of a sports car.
It doesn't make me feel bad about my 997, but it does offer something to look forward to, provided that my test drive goes well.

test drove it today, and man when I tell you, it makes our old 997 feel less of a car, believe me, the performance is next to none, considering i had a 997.2 and a 997 turbo, the 991s just performs so so well, please take that test drive....and sit back and enjoy...

I posted this on the 997 forum so I thought I might as well post it here:
I drove a C-2S today and all I can say is OMG!!!!!
This car is stunning.....the looks alone left me speechless. Everything I didn't like in the pictures I loved in the flesh (except the script on the back).
The exhaust w/o the PSE was breathtaking....what a sound. Driving this car was just as impressive....the acceleration was stunning....the sport mode awesome......the steering was fine as well. Everything that i was fearful of didn't materialize when I saw it and drove it.
This is doubtless a step forward and it's still all 911...at least to these old eyes and seat.
Thank God for Porsche is all, I can say!

Hearing all this praise almost makes me afraid to drive it. What if I love it? What to do then with my current (leased) 997S which isn't even a year old yet? But I do prefer manual, and a GT3 should be coming out eventually, so maybe that will help enable me to wait before changing.
