Test drove 991 911 S and Boxster Spyder Back to back
I first drove the spyder pdk with Sport chrono and then the new 991 911 s pdk with Sport chrono, pse, steering plus but no PDDC
The spyder was very good, too much wind noise with top up on high ways but still it was very very nice to drive.
I then drove the 911s
From the moment i started gunning it, o my the traction, the pse noise, the steering quality , stability and ride was just awesome
In high speed Sweepers the 991 was more confidence inspiring than the Spyder
This new 991 now has the handling of cayman and the traction of 911 but u still enjoy the push from the back . The sunroof is may be opens an inch more than 997 but it controls the wind draft nicely
The interior was all leather but i saw the non full leatehr car too and it was pretty good
All in all, the 911 rocks and i will consider base probably once i drive it .

sounds good, but i have to say, that although the new 991 is a looker, the Boxster/upcoming Cayman tops the 991 in the looks department imho. Porsche really nailed it with the new Boxster.
They are different cars but there is no issues with comparing them. Buyers do it all the time.
I agree most of the OP's points except for the steering. I drove a cayman R (not a boxster spider but close enough) and the steering was sublime in the cayman R

Funny thing is that I wish the steering of the CR had even more sharpness and feedback. I guess Porsche didn't want to push it to the point of being twitchy.
