I would imagine this review can't be far away. Really looking forward to hearing what the "experts" are saying.

I tried searching for one a few days ago and came up with nothing. Have they even allowed the press to drive a base yet?

Will they review a base separately? I don't see the point, it's just like the S minus some standard options and 50 horses, does that warrant a separate review?

They are two entirely different motors, brakes, ect. I have read numerous reviews on base 997's so I am sure one will be along shortly.

Are you sure they are "completely different motors"? I was told that the base has a shorter stroke and different valves / timing. I think they are even the same compression ratio and I've been told that they are both balanced to the same specs. I'm not sure about the metal used in the pistons and rods but I suspect they are the same because they have the same RPM red line. Even the HP and torque ratings come at the same speed.

All this makes be believe they are not as different as they used to be, but I look forward to seeing more of the specs.

Finally found one

Unfortunately it doesn't go into too many details about the c2 vs c2s differences -

That link didn't take me anywhere. Could you say what area of gassing it's in?

Sounds to me like Porsche is having big problems delivering:

- C2
- MT cars...
- and Cabs...

Everything is just late and looks like manufacturing is either still working out details or there is a capacity issue.

Thanks for the update. I can immagine that 50 HP would make a noticable difference (at least 1/4 second faster to 60). I'm hoping we'll soon see if there are other differences, like vibration level of each.

Why? Have they missed delivery dates? I haven't see any reports of this.
