Quick question. Does PSE have to be activated every time you start the car or can it be on constantly?

I think it has to do with the valve being vacuum operated...

I like the black HRE P40 wheels a lot, but I am not sure I would so easily spend that amount of money on new rims (or that the difference vs. the OEM wheels is worth the money).
Still, the idea of black wheels is interesting -and always works nicely on white cars-. There has been a previous post about someone powdercoating his new 20" wheels in black and the picture did not seem very exciting. I wanted to see what it would look like on my car and did one more -ugly- photoshop.

Here's the original pic:

and here's the photoshoped pic with the same wheels in black:

IMO, powdercoating the wheels just turns something a bit distinctive into something dull. Black wheels are great, but it's more that I would have the impression to waste the OEM rims.
This is an option that I will definitely not pursue!
the color looks more like gunmetal than black, gunmetal would look better than black imho.
i think the spoke-design of the wheels doesn`t go together very well with a blacked out look. so, i would NOT paint these OEM wheels black.
i would either go with a gunmetal look or new wheels in black (HRE, Forged DST etc.) or enjoy them as they are!

Perfectly right! those OEM wheels should not be painted. I'll enjoy them for a while and will eventually go for black HRE's (maybe 19" if I track the car a lot).

PSE gets activated when you push the PSE button ( ), but also when you go to sport or sport plus mode. Everything (sport, sport plus, PSE) is de-activated when you turn off the engine. The PASM and auto-stop settings are not reset when you turn off the engine though.
I do not know what happens with PDCC, I do not have it ( ), but I imagine it must work like PASM.

comfort of seats

SM-ATL - great thread and thanks for all of the info. I'd be interested in your take on the comfort of the 911 seats as compared to your S4. I previously had a '10 S4 and would like to know how they compare. Thanks.

A good deal of firsts

Sorry if this is incomplete, but this is my first post, ever. I had to join the forum to tell you how much I have enjoyed the thread. And your car is great. I just ordered a 991 S coupe myself and reading about yours only makes me want delivery of mine all the more. Mine gets built this week and I may have it before the end of March.
Thanks again.

The S4 seats offered a good blend of comfort and support. The standard sport seats I had on the Cayman were clearly inferior from a comfort standpoint, but I'd say that the 991 seats are the best so far. I have the 14-way sport seats and you can easily find the perfect driving position. I also have the seat ventilation option which I found useless until I tried it. It really makes long trips (and hot Summer days I guess) more comfortable.
I am not sure yet that the 991 seats offer enough lateral support in more extreme situations. I'll check on the track this week end.

Great News and congrats! Start your thread and post your build. Then keep us posted when the car arrives and show us TONS of pictures.
What color/interior did you go for?

That's good to hear on the seats. Do you find that the bolsters on the seat bottom are bothersome? Reason I ask is I have a M6 and the seat bottom bolsters are intrusive. Something I never even noticed in the S4. Now I'm acutely aware (as are the outside of my legs). TIA.

Thanks

I am not sure how to start a thread, or list vehicles under my messages, or, when the time comes, upload pictures. But I will learn.

In the meantime, if it all works out as ordered, my 991 S coupe will be platinum silver metallic with full red leather interior and black seat/door panel inserts. I ordered it with PDK, PDCC, PVT and PASM. I ordered the standard 20" wheels, but I had them finished in Platinum. It should be beautiful.

Nope, have not noticed anything special. Seats are comfortable and a good fit for me (average size and weight ).
