Taking orders now for Aug delivery?
I stopped by the dealership, where incidentally they had at least 3 991S vehicles all ready and waiting in the delivery area. A basalt blk/red interior, dark blue with biege and a guards red/black.
I asked if I don't take my vehicle now and instead order another one with more options such as full leather and sport seats plus, but I was told to expect an Aug delivery. I think that's a bit too long, so I'll just take my current vehicle. They don't have any vehicles in stock.

Don't forget the factory takes about a month off in late summer when nothing gets done but maintenance. If you beat this non-manufacturing month, you will be two months ahead of the ones that don't.
Dealers get certain allotments and if that specific dealer has sold the early ones then they only have later ones available. Other dealers may have earlier slots available. When I was buying my car in the spring of 2000 before the tech market crash all the local dealers had sold all there allotments for the next year. I called all over the country and found an allotment about 6 months out at a dealer in NY, the best I could find and I called just about every dealer in the states. Of course within a few months the tech market crashed and so many orders were cancelled that there was a host of build slots available and many brand new cars sitting on the lots.
If you want an earlier build call around a bit and see what you can find.

It is possible in the US.
US is a big market for Porsche. Usually US dealer secured some build slots in advance. When someone placed an order, the dealer can change the option which will delay the production just around 4 weeks. Compare to other countries, for example, Hong Kong, the max. quota is just around 5 car/month (for 911). We need to wait a quite long time. I placed my order last August and the car just put in production last Thursday.
The avarage waiting period for Cayneen is 2 years in HK. The only model has in stock is Panamera.
