991 Hybrid rumors??

Does anyone have any information on this rumor of a 991 hybrid? At first I thought that this was horrible news. But then I began to think... What if this car is based on the 997 GT3 hybrid racer? What if it comes with a “boost” button that allows the driver to control when the extra power gets delivered to the wheels? If so, then this may become the coolest production car in the Porsche line up!
Any news, thoughts or feelings?

Nothing official, but I have read in several publications that one of the primary reasons Porsche increased the wheelbase on the 991 was to accommodate a hybrid drivetrain in around 2014. They get the benefit of having a larger footprint for fuel economy requirements now, and then have a hybrid version to help also.

With the performance of the 997 GT3 Hybrid cup racer, I dont see why they wouldn't make this. They already have the Panamera and Cayenne hybrids. Might as well bring them to the whole line of cars. 991 Turbo Hybrid sounds cool.

That award will be going to the confirmed production Porsche Hybrid - The 918. At $845k it makes a Carrera GT look cheap.
