to PDCC or not...

When I read the first reviews of the 991 my belief was that the PDCC was the one must have performance option...it kept the car more planted and you could be more aggressive in turns.

After reading some of the later reviews I am not so sure it is a must have.

Maybe it works too well.

What are your thoughts?

Will (does) your 991 have PDCC or not? And why?

As a base, mine does not. Had I ordered an S, I probably would have got it. It seems to be somewhat responsible for the impressive cornering performance and Nurburgring lap times of the 991.

my limited understanding is that is would be a must for high center of gravity cars (Cayenne, Panamera) and not for already low cars (991, 997) with tight suspensions. I would rather invest in sway bars and mechanical stabilizers as opposed to hydraulics.

Based on your earlier posts, Buck, I have been convinced it may be needed for tracking but not for daily road use.

Range Rovers have had it because of excessive body roll. SUVs need them. A good chassis design shouldn't need it for sedans. Bangle era 5 series and newer high cars have needed them too as the cars are higher and higher - it may have to do with making the cars look like cars and still comply with euro bumper laws.

So, Cayenne yes. Panamera maybe. 911 no.

Both 991S' I drove didn't have PDCC, and I didn't find them to lean too much. So I would only get PDCC if it improves the driving experience. I look forward to finding out, hopefully soon.

I will believe in PDCC only if they will be offered in the 991GT3 and RS and cup cars.

If money is not an issue, get it. You don't want to be kicking yourself later wishing you had added it. On my CTT, I love it. Definitely reduces body roll especially in the Sport mode. There's a reason why they offered it and it increases performance. Ya sure you're not going to track your car but seriously, how many people do? And for the ones that do, how often are they really doing it? And really, why do you even need this car and 350hp or 400hp? We don't need any of this. But we get it because we like it and if it makes your ride a bit more fun to work or to lunch/dinner, it will be well worth it. Anyways, just my opinion.
