My Cab

My dealer can place an order in April for June delivery. Here's my car with explanations, since I'm sure I'll be asked why no PDCC, PSE, etc.

Packages P38 Premium Package $2,940
Since I want both heated seats and electric controls, this option makes a lot of sense to me. Both my wife and I are short and have manual controls on our 997, so the infinite settings of the electric seats will suit us better. Besides, I'm tired of reaching down and yanking the bar every time I drive the car after she does.

Exterior Color 1V Cabriolet Roof in Black $0
Almost got red, but decided to be conservative and practical.

B4 Carrara White $0
Too many silver and gray cars in my present and past (keeping the silver 997). My first true convertible was a white with black top and interior Alfa Spider, which I loved. The contrast between the white body of the 991 and the red taillights and brakes looks great.

Interior Color AZ Black leather interior $3,690
I have never had full leather in any of the 6 Porsches I've owned, and this time I'm gettin' it, damnit! Besides, since I (and hopefully everyone here) spend most of my time inside my car, I want a fantastic interior.

Exterior 498 Deletion of Model Designation $0
No explanation needed.

636 ParkAssist (front and rear) $380
I might be short, but I'm big enough to admit that I'm a terrible parker.

Wheels 423 20-inch Carrera S wheel $0
Even though they are the stock wheels, they're my favorites.

Interior P06 Power Sport Seats (14-way) $0
Included in Premium Package

Interior Leather 840 SportDesign steering wheel $250
I really like the look of this wheel. Worth every penny.

Audio and Communications 671 Voice Control $595
I use my car for business, and cannot do without voice control.

686 SiriusXM(R) Satellite Radio Receiver
incl. 3 month trial subscription $750
Yeah, I know it's not the highest of fidelity, but I like listening to radio. I grew up with radio, and SiriusXM is the closest thing to free form, album oriented radio from my younger days. I like the randomness of radio and being able to listen to new songs and artists.

I'll probably add the smoker's package because of the cleaner look.

Destination Charge
Amount $950
Vehicle price $117,555

In summary, I had a budget, and I stuck to it. It meant carefully choosing my options and forgoing what some might consider "must haves". Obviously, I leaned toward interior looks and comfort, but that's what works for me.

For all of the negative comments about the price of the 991 and the myriad of options, the great thing is that for under $115,000 (with discount) I was able to build a heckuva nice car. Looking forward to the sunshine of June!

Great order! Every car (and owner) is different and it's great to see variety. I don't understand those people that judge flame others for not getting what they consider "essential" options.

My order is in for a cab as well and I'm looking forward to full leather...it'll be the first Porsche I've had with it.

Congratulations! Can't wait to see pics when you get it.
