I've found a great set of products that are easy and have amazing results with easy between wash maintenance.
1. Clay that paint and to make it easier with using Carpro Iron X: http://www.detailedimage.com/CarPro-...600/500-ml-S1/
2. Don't apply wax unless the paint is perfect...i mean perfect down to Menzerna Super Finish Polish SF 4000 on a black pad (I'm using a PCRO)
3. Clean all the polish off the car - a great product besides washing it again is Carpro Erase: http://www.detailedimage.com/CarPro-...P603/16-oz-S1/
4. I use CG Black Light: http://www.detailedimage.com/Chemica...P529/16-oz-S1/
on a blue pad - let it cure for at least 20 minutes then wipe off
5. I follow this with a spray down of CG H7: http://www.detailedimage.com/Chemica...P530/16-oz-S1/
6. The waxes I've used: Speed yellow: http://www.detailedimage.com/Dodo-Ju...240/250-ml-S1/
Silver: Swissvax Concorso, P21S 100% Carnauba, Dodo Juice SuperNatural
Gaurds Red: Dodo Juice SuperNatural, Zymol Ital (the old stuff that was about $400), the new wax I'm using is http://www.detailedimage.com/Chemica...ax-P614/82-S1/
I Apply it with a 5 inch crimson red pad leave it for 45-60 minutes then buff off

Thanks so much. Does anyone believe there is a benefit to using the Zymol Glasur which is specifically formulated for Porsche?

There are dozens to a hundred carnauba waxes on the market from around the world. Keep an eye on the detail blogs and read what the pros are using: http://www.detailedimage.com/Ask-a-Pro/. I've been caught up the "which wax is best" debate which has left me broke in some cases as wax can get very expensive. You really need to keep in mind that carnauba wax is a protective layer that will enhance anything beneath it (i.e., paint that needs better correction). Correcting the paint is the most important step in the process! The average carnauba wax lasts, IMO, 4-6 weeks. I've been using more synthetics in the past several years and occasionally topping them with carnauba.

Read the forums and ask questions to the pros. One guy I have a lot of respect for is Todd Cooperider: http://www.toddcooperider.com/ who is a top US detailer. He is very quick to respond to questions when emailed.

Lastly, keep your product list short. If you have one or two cars to maintain there is no need to have 3-4 waxes on hand (hope that makes sense). Invest in a good PC or Flex, good pads, exceptional MF towels and MF towel cleaner. Learn how to maintain your expensive detail related products like your towels to keep them going for a longer period of time.

Hope this helps, detailing is my biggest hobby. Just like my career in medicine I find I am learning something every day.

Please look at what I wrote several posts ago regarding Todd Cooperider and go to his blog and type in "new car prep" in a search and read the process of what is involved in getting a new car to look it's best. Hope this helps.
