Buffeting (not Jimmy)
Bad enough he drove with his windows up. He does to Sebring this weekend. The buffeting is worse in the 991 then when I drive a cup car at terminal velocity. Mom3ntm you left before I busted out laps in the cup car again!!! I'm on a major high today. Also I have to report that Mom3ntm and I are close in driving skill yet I couldn't catch him in my 2010 GT3. Where there is a negative we have to focus on the positives. The buffeting is the only real weakness in the car.
It's annoying enough that you will NEVER voluntarily keep your windows down above 80mph. Other than at the track this is not an issue for me. The car does so many other things right that I'm not getting worked up over it. Will see how things go at Sebring on Saturday.

More laps in the cup car, sweet. Whoever was driving it right before I left last night spun it #4 right in front of me. Luckily I could avoid him by going wide. It got away from him mighty fast.
Sorry I'm not joining you at Sebring this weekend, I dropped the ball on that.
He got scared and went home then I got to play with it! Weird night last night from Lambo crash to a 944 spinning every chance it got, etc. We still had fun though! Looking forward to next week! =)

let the good times roll.

I wonder if Suncoast or some other innovative organization would be willing to make a rear window mod that would open out like the 356s (I don't remember if any 911s had it) and if it works coordinate with Porsche to sell it as a mod.

Would place my order tomorrow!
Still amazed that those German Autobahn test pilots did not pull the red flag for this. I am more amazed that none of the car magazines found this "feature" either. Sounds to me they are just not testing the cars at high speed or during the summer. Weird because this is not something unheard off. My Audi Allroad will pull the wax out of your ears at 60 miles per hour with rear windows down.
Just as a suggestion -- If it's buffeting due to a resonance in the cabin, you might try to make relatively minor adjustments to the windows and/or sunroof openings. At some of the track events, both windows are suppose to be down and the sunroof is suppose to be closed. But you can try putting the driver and/or passenger side window up a little bit, and that might do the trick. If the sunroof is open, you can try to shut it a little, or adjust the windows slightly as well.
So has anyone actually used the Sport Design mirrors at speed?
I hope that this is the remedy to buffeting, but would like a confirmation before its too late to change my order configuration.

The Sport Design mirrors are only on cars that aren't being delivered yet (GT3, Turbo S, 911-50), so other than journalists, no one has driven a car with Sport Design mirrors yet. I think you will have to wait at least a month or even more before we see real world driver reviews.
