G-meter readings from track

Went out for my Wednesday night track night and this was my G-meter reading when I was done. Not sure how accurate this is but I thought it worth sharing nonetheless. It would be pretty sweet if the car actually pulled this many G's on street tires.

Amazing! Did you ever quickly look during tight turns? I can imagine 1.1 but 1.2 seems better than possible except for quick transients. The strange element is that both directions are exact. In any event, it must have been a fun time!

Believable. The German car magazine sport auto tested a 991S at 1.4 lateral g on standard factory-issue Pirelli tires.

I would like to see the test details. Momentary 1.4 is one thing, but I don't know of any street car that can sustain 1.4G.

I would also think that the G meeter is fairly accurate.

My guess is that it was momentary peak performance. The magazine article refers to it as maximum lateral acceleration. As a point of reference, they measured the same 1.4 g maximum lateral acceleration when testing a 997.2 GT3 with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires.

They also write that the Pirelli P Zeros on the 991 were specially developed for the car (common knowledge) and that they are optimized for dry road conditions. Like the Cup tires, they don't like cold temperatures. They are less subject to aquaplaning than the Cup tires thanks to more tread depth and better drainage tread design. They are fine in the wet as long as they have enough temperature in them.
