Wheel and Tire Insurance Price
SubscribeMine was a 1000. No matter how carefull I am I always seem to bend a wheel sooner or later.
I paid $2,100 for tire/wheel, dings (door dings), paint work like chips, and windshield. I've curbed a rim before- you'll spend $500 to fix that alone. I've also had to have a front clip repainted due to rock chips- that was $3K on my Benz. For $2,100.... if you have to use it once it paid for itself; twice and your ahead. I track my car so...... money well spent.
Great subject,
I agree that the dealer has a ton of wiggle room on this type of policy.
Last week I was charged $1300.00 for a 5yr no mileage cap wheel(not cosmetic) and tire policy on a 2012 Mercedes E350 Cab.

I went with Fidelity Tire warranty from P dealer when purchased. 5 year, unlimited miles, wheels and tires-$800. I live in a gated community in south Florida with a lot of building going on,m roof, nails/debris a heavy factor. Got one nail in tire (roofing nail) at 4,000 miles, noticed the pressure dropping a couple of lbs in a few days and saw the nail. Brought it to local Tires Plus dealer and expected to have them call and wait for a physical inspection by insurance co. The dealer called Fidelity and got a confirmation number to replace tire over the phone, no depreciated value- new tire......................cost me a $1.50 tire disposal fee. Still have another 1 1/2 years on warranty- no complaints here, highly recommend Fidelity tire warranty .........................
Quoted $899 for 5 years at my dealer when i took delivery of my 997 TTS a month ago.
Declined, as I live in FL and car will only see a few K miles per year.
At 600 mi on the odo, first highway trip resulted in a rear flat that was unrepairable roadside.
An hour long flatbed trip to my dealer and a six hundred dollar service bill for a new rear tire has me rethinking getting a policy.

Mine was $2,200 for 5 year, no mileage limit, wheels, tires, dent wizard, window, etc. I am sure there are other policies at better prices, but it is nice to just drop it off at the dealer who sold you both and say I'll be buy to get it this afternoon - no arguement or forms - it is all in their computer, they call for the authorization - which you must have before the work starts - even if you would have otherwise qualified, they will not pay if you don't call first - I keep their number and policy number on my phone just in case.
In NJ, the pothole state, this package is a must!
