Cancelled the 991 for a GTS
Conversely, as 911 leases go, that's not bad at all. A new 991 lease for the same MSRP is going to be a lot higher. This is mainly down to the residual being based on MSRP of the GTS, while the depreciation start point is the negotiated price. The difference between the two gives you the depreciation part of the lease payment. Obviously, the lower the negotiated price, the lower the depreciation cost. Provided the money factor isn't outrageous, it is situations like this when leasing makes a lot of sense.
In any case, the car is beautiful and you did very well. Congratulations!
Congratulations. I've had my 2012 GTS for almost a year, and love the car. I debated on waiting on a 991, but I was ready for a new car last June and really didn't want to wait almost another year for a manual transmission 991. Plus, I really didn't know if I would like the 991, but knew I liked the GTS. Another factor for me was that I did not want a first model year 991.
I may end up in a 991 someday, but will wait on a 991.2 most likely, if I just don't keep my GTS forever. It is that good.
Enjoy your new GTS.

I'm happy with the deal for sure. 7500 miles a year is more than enough for me, but at 30 cents a mile, I could put an extra 10k miles on the car for 3k if I chose to.
Plus you'll have no quality issues in this last 997 model which should be close to perfect as far as reliability goes. Also has a few more hp than 991S on paper, plus pse standard. Good move!
My backup plan is also a GTS cab if I can't get a 991 cab in time.
Having test driven both, however, I have to say 991 feels more planted in the corners, with less drama. No steering wheel wiggles, although I understand some people like it.

Maybe it's just me, but the widebody GTS with AWD doesn't squiggle at all. It's nothing like the standard 997's I've driven. I think it does have a wider front track as well. As for stiffness, hard to say. Feels pretty ridged, anyone know if the swaybars are bigger than a 997 C2?
Nice car and a great deal! Anyone looking for a new 2012 GTS for a huge discount shoot me a PM..I have 4 left available....3 Cabs and 1 Coupe. Thanks guys.
