iPhone plug in the center console?

With the USB plug in the glove box I'm curious what people are doing if they want to run a plug to the center console? I'm surprised Porsche didn't include this....

Anyone have success (easily) running an extension to the center console or is this a painful exercise?

The Ipod is fully integrated into the PCM. Its in the center arm rest in the 997 and in the glove box of the 991. It is just as easy and I just leave mine in there. If my iphone is low on juice I'll plug that in instead and bluetooth still works and ipod features too. I don't know why you need it to the center console.

I just use the bluetooth to play my tunes, I hate plugging things into ports with cables everywhere. Besides, my phones usually fully charged by the time I get to my 991 since its just a weekend / clubnite driver.

Makes sense. In in my current ride the iPod integration is decent as far navigating songs and using the phone but if I fire up Pandora, Spotify, or iHeart Radio I have to use the iPhone itself. Sounds like in the 991 I can navigate apps via the PCM touchscreen?

I guess I should have played with this during my test drive

I don't believe you can play with apps on your iphone on the PCM.

I *think* your original assumption that Pandora, Spotify etc. need to be controlled from the phone is accurate.

i hated the Ipod in the 997 arm rest. you had to contort yourself to reach that thing.

i expect the glove box will be much better

Yeah the glove box connector is a much better option than the arm rest. In the 997, if you ever tried to put an iphone in there you know what I'm talking about. I ended up buying an ipod nano just so I never had to take it out again unless it was to add new music. In the 991 there's so much room in the glove box, I think I may buy an ipod classic and load it up with music!
