Need your help: Red or Black?
It would be hard for me to believe that anyone would ever do black again, once they've already done black...and seen how hard it is to keep clean and how bad it looks with swirls in the paint. That should tell you something. How many here that say "go with black" are on their second black car? And, unbelievably, if that is so, are you a satist? or do you have some other issues, lol?

i agreed on red but chickened out when i actually saw the car. my spouse also was not keen on the red as just too loud.
as to black, this will be my 3rd black 911 and they really do look good in the colour: i voted black

Wow! Thanks to all of you for the replies and advice!!
It comes to me as a surprise to see more votes / replies for the red than the black one. Thought I will get a result of 30/70 red/black. So that lets me lean towards red even more....
The only thing I do not like with the red is that it is very flashy and I am more the understatement guy. Furthermore you can not see the nice contrast btw color and the red backlights, which I like so much on the black car. On the plus side you are not one of the thousands of black 911 you can see here every minute (which is the case in Munich, where I live) and it is just a very sporty looking color with less cleaning efforts required.
So,... what to do
I will have a second look at a red one at my dealer next week and will take a decision "on-side" to finally stop this discussion. Will keep you posted.
Again, thousand thanks for your comments, votes, pictures!

I thought Red did not look good on the 996 series cars, but looked very good on 997's. I have seen both on the 991 and you can't go wrong with either. Red does stand out a little more when being viewed by police officers!!!

I voted red but my favorite is blue. White is nice too but it's going to be as common as black. Good luck
lol, yeah, I have black right now and it's a b1tch to keep clean. The only time I feel good about the way it looks is after multiple washes, clay, and wax. I added sealant glaze to it about six months ago and it glowed. I washed it last week and noticed some small swirls, drives me nuts. My silver car has not been waxed for over 3 years and not one swirl visible. I washed both cars on the same day and I felt good about the silver one. The black one just doesn't look that clean.

. I will say that when black is perfect (no swirls, etc.) it looks absolutely gorgeous. But that's only like 1% of the time, unfortunately. Best time to look at black is in the morning or the evening...both times have minimal sun and lots of shadow...to hide the swirls. Some will say, if you wash it correctly, you won't get swirls. Ok, sure. But you have to be willing to almost double the amount of time that you spend cleaning/washing/waxing your car. Not worth it, IMO...pick any other color.J
Don't get me wrong, if I found the Porsche that I wanted and it was black that would not stop me from buying it; however, if I had a choice I would go with the guards red. Actually, my next one is going to be a white Turbo.
