I noticed in the other exhaust thread here on 6 speed for the 991 there has been plenty of posted info just like this thread, but when it comes to proof of improved performance neither product has been willing to post an after installed dyno.

I would think anyone capable of producing a quality performance improving exhaust for the 991 could most likely post a dyno in a week to 10 days if the dyno in fact showed improved performance but if performance is lacking it might take awhile to see those after installed dynos.

Agreed. Sound only is not enough. Just show 20 hp & great sound for exhaust & tune and I'll be in, but the fact of not publishing data just doesn't inspire confidence

sorry for the delay guys, we have been going crazy over here with the various projects we have underway (MP412C, LP640, 991, etc. ) Part of the delay was the various setups we have been trying out on the 991 as well as the other "add-on's" that will make this car the first in the country for a variety of things).. here is the initial runs from our 2.5" resonated x-pipe off the headers with the side mufflers bypassed into stock tips.. as you can see there are pretty substantial gains (and this was on a mustang dyno aka the heartbreaker [notoriously low reading dynos]) in the mid range and the car sounds amazing!

dyno was side muffler bypass?

any dyno with side cans and center bypass?

interesting approaches here, not sure if i like the empty tip....

i think since the 991 comes in several variants, and subsequently difficult to make a center pipe their needs to be a triple pipe center bypass for S and normal double pipe for base..

then the owners can reuse/use new side cans... or still utilize the stock tips for S if wanted..

that graph is confusing, I just look at the graph and then the max values, you show run #2 as making less hp, since peak torque is virtually unchanged this makes it look like you lost hp.

My advice is always have the modified run be the higher run or "last run" it will avoid confusion

I just purchased a 911 Carrera and wondered what is the best price you can do on the X-pipe race exhaust shipped to 08753 ? Also does the rear bumper need to be dropped to install this? Thanks in advance
I can't pm yet to new on this forum could you email me at chewy08753@gmail.com

Im confused? If the gains are 50+ hp and 50+torque. Why is everyone not installing this
That is the reason I never got this done...

50hp gain? Never... maybe 20, and I seriously doubt even that.

I just can't believe that an x-pipe would give you such an incredible gain... 50hp for under $2K?! I'm not an engineer, but I find it highly unlikely that you can extract that much power out of the flat 6 engine with just an exhaust.

Dynos are a tricky thing... we've been debating graphs and curves for years over at other forums, and there is tons of stuff that can be wrong.

Just to make sure, I'm not saying that the posted dyno from fabspeed is false, I just have serious doubts that *any* x-pipe (full exhaust) would give you that much power.

Agreed. I like Fabspeed products but I must agree that 20hp is probably the most you could get (and even then, a tune would help or be needed to get there). Porsche has probably "left" 15 to 25hp in the engine that they will use through a remap and changes in intake or exhaust when the time will come for the 991.2 and that they will want to show some hp gain.
Getting more out of the NA 3.8 DFI by just working on the intake/exhaust does not seem realistic at all. Just my 2 cents.

Has anyone installed this exhaust?? Just curious in sound, install time and if you noticed any difference in performance there's a lot of talk on the thread and haven't heard any owners yet?
