Little Help Deciding (Targa Replacement)

Ok just a quick question now that BMW went and confused everything for me (released the M5 and 335xi in 6spd.). Need some help with this decision as I keep going back forth on what to do. I need a 4 door everyday sedan and a fun car.

So options are:

- M5 and Boxster 981
- 335xi and 991 Cab/Coupe

I am the kind of guy that would usually go get both (M5 and 991) but I have hard time swallowing that pill at this point not to mention the eventual wife gift that is going to have to come along with all this stuff I have always loved the M5 as the ultimate every day car but after my experience with the Targa I can't see myself not owing a Porsche sports car and might rather spend the $$$ on a better fun car then a huge sports saloon. Think I answered my own question but just thought I would get some thoughts.

Thanks

Joe

my philosophy is that fast cars should be sports cars

the sedan can be fast cars too but they just don't need to have more than 300-400 hp. a 3 series or normal 5 series will do the job. don't need a M3 or M5 as long as you a have a proper sports car.

Yep I'd go for the - 335xi and 991 Cab/Coupe
I think you're going to get disappointed with your boxter every time ya see a 991 drive by, a 335x will probably satisfy you on a daily bases...

Also a DD is just that... and a weekend toy has to deliver the thrill you're which makes it "special".

You could also consider a regular 5 series, not the M, to save a bit. A buddy had the 335xi and performance was good enough to make it hard to justify the M. I would mot be surprised to find that the same is true for the 5 series.

Also, look at the Ausi S4, if you can find it.

Exactly why I have been struggling with the M5/M3 for so long. Great advise thank you!

Gong to cross shop the refreshed S4 and the 335xi. I have never really seen myself driving an Audi, but there always is a 1st.
