high option base 991 vs lo option 991 C2?

What do you guys think? I* have a black on black, pretty high optioned 991 on a boat enroute to S Florida. Full leather, 7 sp man, bose, cooled seats, 20" 305 wheels, sports chrono, sports exhaust, sunroof........

Have a mint, 09 997.2 C2, 10,500 miles. Apprehensive about going to a smaller motor, 3.6-3.4, decided to test drive a low option, 991 C2S w/ PDK and no seports chrono...

I absolutely HATED the engine shut off switch. Engine shuts down at red light, starts back up randomly if light is too long- thank god it can be over ridden. Not sure how I felt about the lines of the 991, kept finding myself looking at the 997s in the showroom. I do really like the rear and the lights and spoiler change but not sure about the front or overall lines. Engine sounded good, I had it up to 85 in 2nd in manual mode (thats why you don'ty buy demos!!!) but I think I'll like the sports exhaust choice in the base Carrera I ordered. All in all, not sure the lo optioned S blew me away. I think I'd like full leather and also missed the Sports Chrono on the dash.............. P cars sure have gone up in price.

I'm getting $62,000 from my dealer and getting the 991 Carrera (stickered at $104,300) for 100, with no $950 dealer prep fee.

I have Tubi exhaust and clear bra on my 997 and its covered and on charger. I'm going to wait and see what I think about the 991 when I see the one I left a deposit on in person. Not sure if a 7 spd manual tranny will be a pro or con, I only drive 5,000 miles on weekends. Anyone else unsure about 991 over 997?

I have several dilemmas-
Do I want to keep my murdered out , blacked out 997.2 w/ blacked S wheels.................

go for 991 Carrera loaded.......................

or go for 991 S lo optioned to stay closer to the under 110 range?

Since you are asking for opinions, i would say go for the low optioned 991 S. No option is a must have, but i would suggest pdk, pse, chrono & sport steering.

This is the best 991S spec I've seen yet.

112k for MT, PSE, SC, PASM, Burmester, 14way seats, Sport Design Wheel, 20" Carrera Classic, and sunroof delete. The only thing you are missing is PDCC and Sunroof.

With a bit of negotiations, you will definitely get it into the price range and can add sunroof too!

The glass roof looks great and the spoiler is more aggressively raised with the sunroof open

Is moonroof = glass sunroof?

Will the dealer let you take out demo for a few hours...maybe even a day. That may be enough time to sway you if needed.

If the $$$ isn't a big factor then it's a no brainer IMO, I'd upgrade to the latest generation.

Yes. Basically you have a choice between no S/R, the standard steel S/R or the glass S/R which is essentially a moonroof when shut with the shade drawn., I went with the glass S/R, but I've never actually seen one in person, and I doubt anyone has since they are available with 2013 production which starts at the end of May.
