Sounds like you could add a very small loop to the fob before adding the ring with the rest of your keys.

Hi - quick question on your painted key - you ordered from the factory with your car, correct? Did you end up with a third key that was painted in addition to the two black, or were your two black keys painted Guards Red? Have you found that the paint chips? My dealer is trying to convince me not to do it. He says it will chip. I really want one to go with my new 991CS Guards Red order!

Thanks for your help!

same here, I wanted that option but my dealer told me it would chip with some use, guess it depends on amount/quality of the clear coats

I did not experience any paint chips on my key after 5 month, should be no problem.

I would not recommend buying one from the dealer simply due to cost; You will however get a '3rd' key which may be useful;

The paint etc i got from automotivetouchup.com and will run approx $60 for the primer, paint to order, clear urethane;

The finishing urethane is critical as that prevents the chipping;

Yes, i 'had' two black keys and one factory painted key;
Since i painted my own keys red and GT silver, i haven't used the factory painted key but it seems very high quality so i doubt it would chip.

I can no longer add changes to my car, since it went into production, but I'll keep this so I can paint one Platinum Silver, maybe start a 991 DIY?
thanks
