I posted a link about 2 weeks ago with the pictures you are looking for. Just search DIY Oil Change. Hope this helps. By the way the stuff just pops off in about 1 minute.

Another suggested step....

Cut open the old oil filter and lay it flat out. Look on the inside core for metal shavings. Larger shavings may need some attention.

Especially important right before you run out of warranty.

Did my own 10k oil change today, well 9k anyway,. The hardest part was waiting for the old oil to drain out. Thanks to all of you who provided some instruction.
One thing I will say is I purchased a replacement filter, brand name 'Wix', cause I had heard good things about the brand but as soon as I got it out of the box and compared it to the OEM filter I knew I wouldn't use it. It's about a third smaller.
So off I went to the Porsche dealer and got an OEM,,,,
lesson learned.

it depends upon how long it drains. I understand that the system (including oil coolers) takes over 10 quarts.

Good to know. Thx.

Does anyone know if torque specs are the same as for 997?

997 torque specs
Filter 19 lb-ft
Drain 37 lb-ft
