PSE Option

I purchased my 991 S Cab off the lot a couple of months back and unfortunately it did not have PSE. I have been calling my dealer every couple of weeks since then trying to see if one was available to order. Finally they have confirmed a price and placed the order for one today. Should be available available for installation by the end of July. Can't wait!

PS...
Installed price is 4K including labour (here in Canada), apparently Porsche allots 9 man hours to install the 991 PSE!

On 991, do they put a real switch or a fake one in ashtray?

My understanding is that it will be available to all dealers, I suggest getting a hold of your local dealer

I specifically asked about the location of the switch and they confirmed that it will be a genuine switch placed in the console where the other buttons are located

You will not regret the PSE. It is so loud, almost overkill. But that's whats so cool about it.

Is it loud when you're off the throttle or only when you're flooring it? Because the current exhaust is silent unless you're on the throttle hard and then it goes quiet again. The nice burble and mechanical flat-6 noise I'm so used to is completely missing.

I would also like to know how it is compared to standard exhaust when not on the throttle too hard. My wife is noise sensitive but I do like the exhaust sound myself.

In "standard" mode the PSE flaps are closed (but it still does sound louder over 3000 rpm).
If you select sport or sport plus it will be open all the time.
Or in "standard" mode you can activate the PSE by pushing the PSE button.

Personally I LOVE the PSE but plan to add 200 cell cats for a little extra growl.

To the coupe driver it is most noticeable when accelerating. But it can also be noticed if you are standing outside the vehicle i.e. pedestrian even when just idling.
PSE is best with sport mode or sport + and I almost never use it now in regular mode. When cruising at higher and relatively constant speeds it turns in to a drone and that is when it should be switched off.
It is most fun when you brake after a spirited run, the popping and reverse gurgling is excellent and gets the attention of any vehicles stopped at the light.

The pfaff dealership... But like I said earlier, I'm sure any dealer can get them placed on order for arrival end of July through August...

I'm sure there won't be many systems available right off the bat (Porsche seems to like shorting the market) so get your order in early!

PSE Installation Completed and I couldn't be happier!
I can sum it up by the following formula

991 S CAB (top down) + PSE + SPORTS/SPORTS + MODE = JOYFUL BLISS!!!

I have attached a video trying to capture pre and post PSE installation sound for those of you on the fence. Please forgive the shakiness, had my kid holding my camera as still as he could! lol...
