S Brakes: Durability, Costs?

So I'm in the last stages of my purchase decision. Looking at c2s cab and the competition is warning me of annual brake maintenance costs.

Anyone have experiences, warnings and or assurances they'd care to share?

Thanks

The competition is an m6 convertible.

That's not even close to competition. Plus it's not a M6, it's a Solara

Both my 997.1 and 997.2 had over 45,000 miles on them when traded. The service tech told me that unless the car is tracked, there wer at least 20,000 more miles in them.

Brakes are almost bullet proof on a 911!

My 997.1 had 35,000 on it and it had at least another 10-15K remaining on the pads.

When you say, the competition, I assume your referring to what the "salesman" is telling you.

Without tracking, the rotors can last 50k or even 75k miles. The pads I just priced out at $550 for a full set. Without tracking but with very hard street driving, very worse case, call it every 10k miles.

In the context of a $125k car, I don't see that being a real factor for consideration.

Thanks, all.

This is good news to hear and yes, the competition is a sales guy calling me at 8:00pm trying to throw some FUD in my face.

Gotta give him props for trying.
