I think it could vary quite a bit depending on where you live and/or have the work done. I want to say about $150 per wheel is a fair price. You have to consider also that you have labor involved removing wheel, removing tire, removing tpm, putting them all together again and back on car and balancing. At $150 per, that seems more than fair. Painting them is less expensive and you will get an exact match, guaranteed. I am nit sure if you will get an exact match with powder coating. Any one else have any experience with this?

I was thinking of installing the 9500ci on my 991 cab as well. Where did you install the GPS attenna? Did you install it just above the OEM attenna on the back? Have a picture of placement area?

Thanks.

Porsche 991 Carrera S

Hello Gents,

I am new to the forum, and I am in the market for a 7 speed 991 Carrera S ( can't afford turbo, and it doesnt come stick ) some questions if anyone knows :

1. Is there Power modifications of the market now that will give significant reliable safe power gains for torque and horsepower ? My understanding is mapping or reconfiging the

2. Can the rear brake vents in Turbo's be put into Carrera S body ?

Bolt on and tuning mods get discussed a lot.. We all argue this pro/con.. You can get a little bump with a ECU tune... the bolt ons (induction and exhausts) are a bit more vague but in general you aren't going to see anything that is going to huge.

My personal experience with ECU tunes (none on a 991 engine yet) is they are much more significant on a turbo charged engine, mainly because you can up the boost.. and that's where the noticeable torque and HP comes from.

On a normally aspirated it is more about fiddling with limits, fuel flow and timing. and assuming it is a decent engine design all you are really recovering is the safety margin that the engine designers put in the first place. I've yet to be able to feel much in the seat of the pants in one, it is more something you can maybe see with a dyno.

Note I'm making only a generalizations and any of the vendors around here hawking tunes, exhausts and induction bolt on's will make a lot of claims. Personally I'd save your money as you will likely be disappointed with the improvements.

My suggestion with the perceived low end torque, learn to be aggressive with the throttle use the mid RPM bands above 3500 where the engine is designed to operate , and you will find the high reving porsche engine comes to life. Most folks who are used to V8's tend to feel a C2S/C4S lacks torque.. but it is really more about how you use the engine.. (as 4.1 seconds 0 -60 requires a lot of torque). Just note this is an endlessly argued issue in the forums.

Hmm thanks for that was afraid of this answer lol shame - I see many exhaust people claiming 20hp gains but for 7 Grand ? Thats mental

Looking good! The calipers look fantastic behind the black wheels. Have you thought about clear LED tail lights? They light up red at night and look awesome

Check them out: 991 Clear Tail Light Kit
