After months of configuring, waiting, changing my mind, ordering and looking at dealer inventory, I finally have my car.

Lightly optioned S Cab with black std interior, pdk, bose, premium package and seat ventilation.

The car's appearance and performance rock. One pleasant surprise has been the Bose - I had low expectations but it actually sounds great with the right songs. Another pleasant surprise is how much I like the looks of the car w/ the top up. GR w/ black top looks both classic and aggressive.

I love the exhaust but can see how I might love it more w/ PSE :-)

 

Congrats!.....my GR/black S coupe is on order and I can't wait. Like you I configured, changed, looked at everything many times over. Funny though, after entertaining white, black, and some others I came back to my fist choice, GR. And after seeing a couple more now I know I made the right choice. Enjoy!

I'm intrigued by your Bose experience. Are you comparing it to Bose on a previous 911? I too am not expecting a whole lot from it and based on my previous P cars think its an overpriced and average performer.

Not coming from previous 911 experience, but rather from systems in several other cars. Some after market, others stock and other premium like Harmon Kardon in Mercedes.

I have an old iPod I keep current with iPhone tunes that I keep in the glove box. Also listen to a fair amount of satellite radio (I'll come back to that). Certain songs on my iPod sound have poor sound quality in general - from either low bit rate or old song. The Bose isn't good enough to make up for that. Those that have a high bit rate and are well produced sound great with the Bose - better than I had expected. Of course the Bose has a tough time competing with the engine at times.

As for the XM - I've been a Sirius subscriber for years, mostly for the NFL radio. I guess Porsche had a legacy relationship with XM and it seems I'll need to upgrade my service to get NFL radio. Hopefully that will work anyway.
