Trouble with side window

Just had a strange thing happen. Tried to close the Passenger side window and it will go all the way up, hit the top and insist upon rolling down a third of the way before it will come to rest. I tried resetting the auto up/auto down feature but no change. Only way I could get it close is by inching it up. Anyone ever have a problem like this,,,,any thoughts???

Sounds like a safety mechanism is malfunctioning. Take it to the dealer

I've seen this in a number of other cars, but not first hand on a Porsche.

It's typically the window travel distance getting out of calibration and triggering the pinch protection feature when it hits the top of the window travel.

On my Audi I can re-calibrate the window travel very easily using the window switch. That typically stops the problem for 6-12 months. Maybe Porsche has a similar procedure.

My fiancee's BMW Z4 has the same problem, but it is going to require a trip to the dealer to address.

Ignition on, window switch up, hold it there for a few around 10 seconds, let go, ignition off. Worked for me on a 997. Try it.
