Does deviated stitch delay production? I thought I had read that it added significantly to the wait for the car.
Brianja, I think that's a great idea. I've got to bounce this through few folks, especially the ones at the dealership. I was thinking full deviated stitching but you're right, it may be too much...I don't really know at this time.

I also think (as you do), we've gotta draw a line to this madness somewhere...I think I'm already there...almost...

Contrast stitching is always a nice touch to the interior. I took it out because at the time of placing the order, Porsche couldn't do the deviated stitch on some of the options such as additional dashboard and rear tunnel, these will be in black. Dealer weren't sure on timing, I waited close to 3 months and gave up. I just don't see a car with two separate colors decorative stitching. I am not sure they offer deviated stitching on the steering column either. I did see it deviated stitching for the steering wheel.

I am sure they eventually will, there was an extensive and very informative by Z356 regarding custom order.

Well, I'm pretty much set on not ordering it:

1. Lighter stitching tend to get dirty over time and would look horrible if it does.
2. It'll potentially delay my order as I've got extended leather dash and rear in stitching.

I'm, however, going to add another small option, key painted in car color! It'll be exclusive

They will never lock your order if you keep adding options ; D. They must love you over there. Light color stitch is not much of an an issues unless you plan to keep the car for a long time. But you are right, it will get dirty over time, or from accident. Just don't have coffee in the car when you go on highway 9 or 35.

Well, I'm a clean freak when it comes to my cars but if anything happens it'll be a huge headache.

The sales guy get amused whenever I call them for update. They've admitted they're putting in options they've not come across before-I'm going to negotiate price reduction due to that ... Why not get something in return from them as a payback from their learning experience

I think Porsche makes their standard, exclusive and custom order options a little more complex than it need to be. No problem with the concept of "creating" and "customize" your own car, I am all for it, I ordered and waited for most of the car. But there are few areas where that are fairly confusing with Porsches' internal system, even for the dealer. Like deviated stitching.

Yeah fester it's a tough choice (stitching) I'm inclined to agree... the very light colored deviated stitching it's going to look amazing but it's also going to get darker/dirty with time.
I guess it depends on how long you're planning to keep your ride.

In the end you've got to make the right choice for you... and I believe you did (that's what I decided too ).

Talking Last addition before order lock!

Here's the last addition that I think is going to make it "perfecto!"

CVW Rear-view mirror in leather 675.00

I love the uniform look of the car... All interior in Espresso Natural Leather and Exterior Pkg painted in GT Silver would look terrific IMO!

Well, that's about it. My next post will be to confirm that the order has been locked !!
