Airwave, what happened? Did you cancel your other order? IIRC your glass roof 991 has been delayed (like mine)... ?

 

No idea how you got the glass roof in. The option is completely blocked for Canada orders.

Since your in Switzerland I guess you'll be getting your C4S before us with North American orders, what's your build and delivery date?

Hi zzboba yep, they kept shifting the glassroof back and back... that i somewhen told them i'm quite a bit upset as i would have had, when known this earlier chosen the 4S instead, now the PC offered me to change ..fair enough..... and I did

 

yes, you're right ...it is also not possible anymore here in Europe to order the glassroof, but i entered the order about a week ago when the configurator still offered it....... i have no confirmed delivery date, glassroof either...hopefully this week the qutoes are coming out....we'll see

The latest 'Flat 6' magazine in France reports that deliveries on the glass sunroof have just begun (resumed?), with some of the first deliveries having taken place.

As for production and delivery times of builds, proximity to Germany does not guarantee faster car delivery, but rather production slots for different markets. As the US is a key market, they receive comparatively greater and more frequent production slots, meaning that someone ordering a car earlier in Switzerland can wait significantly longer for their car and receive it later than someone ordering from the States. This was the case with my Audi Q5 a few years ago. I had a colleague who placed an order in January ('09) for her Q5 in Switzerland. I placed my order in June in NY, where I moved to, and got it in early September. Hers was not delivered until December.
In addition, in the US car dealers order and stock cars in their inventory for people to come in and 'buy off the lot'. This is not common practice in much of the rest of the world, especially with higher end car brands.

 

Same here... my glass roof 991 production is now scheduled for mid october (originally july, then august, then september...), but I would not bet against another delay... thought about cancelling as well since I really don't need the car in winter. Would love to order Targa instead, but no one can tell me when the car will hit the street -- my dealer says that Targa won't appear before 2014, other sources claim Q1/Q2 2013...
