Hac, another delay? ? ?

has anyone heard from their dealer that there is going to be an estimated 8week delay on 991s if you ordered a porsche exclusive with wheel painted in body color?? (notice that this option is no long there on the config page?)

any1 here has any knowledge related to this????

i am not sure if this issue occurred worldwide or it only happens for certain type of wheel....
(i am located in CHINA and my dealer called me today to delivery this message and i have a sport techno wheel painted in black)

This was confirmed by my dealer that wheels painted external color and black will be delayed several months and are off the configurator. Estimated delivery for the dealer's car with this option is January or February.

Wow,...my car was built on 9/18 with black wheels and seemed to have no delay or issues, but I'll have to check to make sure the build went well. Wonder what the issue is?

From what I understand Porsche uses a pretty unique method and machine for painting wheels black or exterior color. Ever notice how a Porsche factory painted wheel has a silver lip around it,...and all aftermarket brands or 3rd party paint jobs don't quite match this or the factory detail?

Some years back I asked the company Wheel Enhancement (Porsche wheel Gods) to paint a set of wheels black for me just like the factory, but they said only Porsche had the machine to do that and it was many $$$. They could only paint the whole wheel black,....not like the factory work. Wonder if the fancy machine blew a gasket or something.

holy cxxp, this is no good... i was thinking on having a third party to finished the paint after i got my car... and i was worried on how well its gonna turn out for me... obviously, the idea of a perfect car is no long in the boardroom. plus the worse thing is, techno wheel looks awful with out its black contrast. and it is not funny.... cao!
