991 S Cab Order - Dealer wants this week!
I have posted a few items for comment previously but now we are down to the wire. I have to stop vascillating as the dealer wants me to finalize the order. Here are the "for sure" things:
2013 991 S Cab
Exterior Dark Blue Metallic, Blue roof
Premium Package Plus
Leather Interior - see below for colors
Park Assist
Electric Folding Mirror with lower part painted to match exterior
7 Speed MT
Sport Exhaust
Sport Chrono
Smoking Pkg
Porsche Crests in headrest
Model designation to 911
Voice Control
Still on the fence:
Interior Color Options:
Want it to be light and I like the Luxor Beige. One option is to do full Luxor Beige (including steering column) and add carbon trim plus carbon multi-function wheel - all four carbon accents. Maybe add the contrasting floor mats in black. Is the dash glare really that annoying???
Option 2 is the 2-tone Luxor Beige and Black. Then the steering wheel is black so the carbon doesn't really show much. So, maybe dump the carbon and do the accent strips in leather with just the standard MF wheel.
Option 3, same as above but using Yacting Blue instead of the black. This is the most complicated because PCA seems to do a lot if the Beige/Black so they know all the parts to get that right.
Other Options:
The highly debated Bose versus Burmester - like good sound but quite an upcharge.
Wheels - probably Carrera S, definitely don't like the Classic but do like the Techno.
That is it - so close...
Thanks in advance

I think you picked a great exterior color,...but I'm not digging the Luxor with it and CF doesn't meld with it IMO.
I'll offer a suggestion,....go full Platinum grey leather (reduced glare, but still light) and then deviate the carpet to Yachting blue. Then do the dash trip strips and gear surround in exterior color or CF, as CF matches much better with grey and blue compared to beige. Then add silver seat belts. It's a shame you can't do the deviated carpet on the 3D configurator, but it would look cool and makes the interior special.
Burmester
Technos are nice, but if it were me I'd save the $$$ and just go with the S, really nice "base" wheels.

OK so it looks like the carbon is out if I go with the beige. Will save some dough to makes the Burmester any easy choice.
I looked at the Platinum grey but I wasn't feeling it - even with the 2-tone (w/black) option. But, it is hard to tell on a PC
I guess it is back to dealership to look at some of these colors.
Didn't see an answer on the glare (if I have to go with the beige) - does someone who has beige have an opinion on this?
Thanks for the input - one or two steps close...

I have the full leather Luxor beige and glare is an issue. I have learned to look beyond it so it's not as bothersome as it initially was. If I did it again I would go two-tone beige and black with black on the dash. Most of the glare is a function of the vent grids, and the darker tones tone it down.

I have the two-tone Black/Platinum. You can't judge it from the PC. It makes the interior considerably lighter without causing glare on the windshield. I believe Black/Platinum also gives you a lighter ceiling on the cab (mine is a coupé), which might be a consideration given that the cab is darker inside (smaller windows), resulting in quite stark contrasts between windows and interior. Black interior is "sportier" but then again, it's a very common color. Platinum IMO is definitely much more elegant. Look at it. Sit in it, drive in it. I was on the fence, too, initially, but I wouldn't get it any other way.
Interior & Wheels
2 tone black & Luxor is nice. Upper dash and upper door panels in black. Looks awesome and reduces the glare. Deviated stitching and carpet sets it off even more.

Techno wheels look great and are super easy to clean.

Wow, is that the dark blue metallic? Looks great and the Techo wheels - is that the same exterior color? (I have actually built that car, exactly, on the configurator).
I have never liked the brushed metal look on the trim strips on the dash and doors. It does seem to work on yours, however. Is there anything you would change?
Thanks for the great pics.

Wheels are painted same as exterior color.
If I were to order a car, I would strongly consider the wood trim to warm up the interior. Having said that, I'm pleased with my car.
The Exclusive options on my car are as follows;
Wheels painted exterior color $1,635
Sport Techno Wheels $1,355
Deviating Stitch Dashboard $390
Deviating Stitching Door Trim $390
Carpet in Deviating Color $710 - not sure why they charge for this???!?!?
Front Window Pillars & Frame $310
Door Trim Standard Leather Deviated $470
Dashboard Upper Section Deviated $550
Hope that helps.
Yes
You may notice in the interior pictures that i do not have PSE. My car is going back to dealer next to have it installed
