Spoke with Porsche (1-800-Porsche) to ascertain if and when Online Services, as featured on the new configuration program, would be available for previously ordered and/or delivered 991 vehicles. They called back about a week later to advise that at this time that program is an option only for vehicles delivered after November 2012. That said, she assured me that they may be considering such a feature for previously delivered vehicles.

 

Thanx rnl. I asked this same question at the dealership this week and they were as blank as could be. Apparently this option is showing on the suv now but not on the 911. Seems like it should be nothing more than a set of s/w & f/w modules for the pcm to make it happen.

 

I suggest that after november we start "beating the drum" for this update/option. Clearly, it is nothing more than additional or revised programming.

 

I posted another thread on this...can't include the link as sending from my iPhone in mobile browser mode. This is indeed offered in 991 builds starting Nov and activates some Internet related features like Internet radio etc thru your cell phone data connection. I asked my sales guy to find details out from Porsche tech but nothing yet, I'll ping him again. I have selected this option on my 991 4S!
