176 miles on a tank?

My 3.4 carrera manual has 3500 miles. I just got PSE and I'm averaging 13.8 mpg in urban/suburban driving!? 176 miles and reserve is on?

The 997.2 3.6 had a better range. Is that possible?

One tire flat?
Exhaust leak or install screw up?
towing a Boxter?
racing in the urban suburban environment?

maybe it's your car's color?

I suggest that if none of the above are applicable, have dealer check this over

Averaging 26 mpg here with 32 mpg on highway going over 70 mph

Not sure my response is going to be very helpful but here it is: on my 991S, I usually average 17mpg with more suburban commute than urban driving. My typical mpg range is 8 (track) up to 34 (highway eco-run). Your 13.8 is plausible if you do more urban than suburban driving and if you have a very 'dynamic' driving style

I'd say do a quick test with intense track-like driving and an eco-run so that you check the 'extremes'

I was about to ask how you drive it but SM already stated it. If you are an aggressive driver and live above 3,000 rpms I could see it, but if you aren't, you may want to get it checked out.

I have a 3.4 PDK and drive about 70/30 city/highway. I drive the PDK using the manual buttons. My average for the 2100 miles since I've had the car is 23.6. I get 31 on the highway. I keep my tires on the comfort settings. We do live in a relatively flat area compared to the hills of CT. Seems like you should get better unless you always have your RPMs at 4000. Perhaps it's time for the dealer to ensure it's working properly.

I am averaging 10.8 mpg in mostly urban areas and honestly, I don't care!
The 3.4l is a blast when pushed hard. I am having the drives of my life.
OTOH, my Lexus GX460 averages almost the same MPG and its a booooring ride, so it seems normal to me.

Sounds like you are enjoying the sounds of the PSE too much.

Something is amiss. Shop visit time, but I think you would already know that.

Could not agree more wa1l1in when I drive it aggressively I can see the needle move. Just like the J & H personality so is the gas mileage. Drive it easy and the MPG are impressive-nail it past 4000k and watch the gas disappear...........

I find that no matter how hard or soft I drive the car I get pretty much the same milage. My normal split is 60 City/ 40 Highway. I average near 20 in the city and near 30 on the highway. Highway speed is usually 85+. Normal range for a tank is 375-420 miles. 3.4 Litre / 7 speed manual.

My city driving with my 7spd manual often sees shifts well past 4200 RPM so I am sure it makes a huge difference with consumption. If you drive moderately you will get a bigger gas mileage return. I have noticed the difference is exponential when you drive it hard.
