I was offered 7% on a new 2013 build. Which sounded pretty reasonable for me. I am new to my area so I have no history with this dealer. I just asked what they were offering and asked how 7% sounded and he agreed pretty quick. He even wrote it up with an initial build i did at the dwaler to make me feel more comfortable. I'm working on my build now and hope to get a dec or Jan allocation. I suppose I could have pressed for more but 7% sounded fair and I also want a pleasent experience during and after the purchase.

Sounds like a nice deal. Good luck with your new car. Who was the dealer if we may ask?

COS 997,

I am in NJ and am planning on ordering a 2013 C4S. Would you mind PM me the dealer?

Thanks, Neil

hey, thanks for the help. i will definitely give them a call tomorrow. these dealers are 6 hours+ from me and if no dealers from my area (Virginia) can match those deals then I will bite the bullet for the long drive!

it is a pretty good deal

I think getting 8.625% off on MY2013 new build is a good deal, I offer 7% to my Southern Cal dealer for a 2013 S Cab, they passed on me, I have a relationship with them by buying 2 P cars and all my services with P cars I bought from other dealer as well

mdc, would you mind PM'ing me? My post count is too low so i can't PM you. I'm in the bay area and looking to order a 991s (non-ED) in the next month. Want to get a good sense of what's an 'appropriate' discount in the Bay Area.

Thanks.

Talking

Thanks for the PM mdc.

At the risk of being annoying - i thought if you PM'd me i could at least reply to you, even though i'm below the minimum number of posts. Turns out I can't. Do you mind PM'ing me your email address? Again, apologies in advance.

if any moderator is viewing and can free me of the PM handcuffs, that would be greatly appreciated I certainly understand the need for such rules, but i'm not a bad apple i promise.

COS997, Thanks for giving me both dealers you used. One of them wan't interested in my business and the other one gave me a great deal. I have a custom 991 C4S with a build completion date of 2/1/12 and hopefully posting some pics in 3/13. My local dealers ranged from <1% to 5% discount. It was interesting to see the whole bargaining process over the phone. Remember no matter how good a deal you get the dealer is always making money! Don't feel bad about haggling for "a few thousand dollars." I didn't and both the dealer and I am happy! So I ended up getting my car from a dealer that is 558 miles from my house and saved about $2800 more. It pays to do your homework!

Congrats!! I'm glad it worked out for you. Its always a pain negotiating, glad you could come to a deal both sides are happy with. My car is supposed to be finished later this month so I'm very excited for Jan to be over ASAP!
