Local dealer offered me an 8.5% discount on a new base 991. They, along with the other local dealer (we're fortunate to have 2 within about 20 miles) , apparently haven't had such a good winter so far and big discounts are the norm at the moment.

I bought recently in Silicon Valley. Discounts are lower than PA for sure but still to be had. There are 4 or so dealers around here - i found some to be more flexible than others.

It's a pretty light build no full leather, no PDCC etc. just PDK. SC. PSE etc.

I pit 2 dealers against one another and the best I came away with was 3.5% discount...
When I hear people getting 7 to 10% I'm skeptical... granted discounts range wildly by geographic location (especially in Europe and South America) but in Canada I think the most you're realistically going to see is 5% max on a new 991 (not on new models releases like C4S though).
Sid,
Did you consider buying in the US? With the stronger looney, I wonder if you would have received a better price. Not sure of the tax hit. And I agree that an under 5% discount on a current build is all you can expect. I bought soooo early I got almost none $1.5K. Another penalty for being an early adopter.

As someone who is currently going through the negotiation process on a 991, I can tell you the latest situation in the New York area. There are amazing lease deals to be had with super high residuals. That being combined with Porsche's up-to 12 months pull ahead program means that inventory is being scooped up very quickly. There are few 991s available now and just as few scheduled to hit our metro area between now and March. I consider myself a very good negotiator and even after dealing with literally a half dozen dealerships, the most I was able to get off MSRP was 6%. That is just my 2 cents....

% off MSRP

Got 7%-8% for in stock 2012 991 about 6 months ago in East Coast and Midwest dealers. 2012s now should be 10-15% or more. Only 5% or less for new builds.

Holy crap I didn't see your post till now... sorry about that!
Ya see there's an agreement between the US and Canada which does not allow a brand new unregistered car to be imported to Canada.
Some brokers will do it but they will purchase the car themselves and them resell it to their client ones in Canada...

But even on a "new" car with very low mileage, between the import tax (6%) shipping, brokerage fees, warranty letters, Canadian freeway act inspection (daytime driving lights etc)... you don't end up saving any $$.
And after all that you'll get 15 to 29% less back when the times comes to trade the car in or sell it because "it's a US car"... nuts!

Sorry to bring up an older thread... but now that its getting closer to the end of the year with Custom order being MY14s what the typical % off now?

Southern California seems to have a lot of dealers around which one would be my best bet to the most discount?

You should easily be able to get 5-6% off. With some effort: 7% or 8% (highly unlikely)...but worth a shot.....I too am in So Cal, just picked up my custom 2014...good luck

In CA - I would say that downtown LA porsche has the largest inventory and will give you the best deal. I got 8% of MSRP. Just be careful re: deposit (should be no more than 2K) and you don't need to do credit check with them if you already has financing approved elsewhere.

Good luck

Really? In CA downtown has the largest inventory? I thought Walters in Riverside was larger? I've heard others claim to be larger also. Either case Ill hit up DTLA and see what they have to offer.

on an Ordered one or off the lot. If Ordered, I'd say take it if you can, but I would find it hard to believe you can get 8% off ordered.
