You did the Front Windshield? If so, is the film applied on the inside as tint, or an optically clear, protective film installed on the outside to protect the windshield? Thanks

I had an optically clear film applied to the outside of the front windshield on my BMW X5M. Protects windshield from road damage (pitting and cracking). I can't seem to find anyone that does it anymore, but would like it on my 991. A lot of Chip Sealed roads where I live. Thought this might be something your shop did.

 

The product you are mentioning is actually not window tint. There are only two companies on the market that produces windshield protection film:

Clearplex by Madico

Diamond Tec by Prestige Film Technologies

For clearplex, we have noticed that it does not last much longer than 6 months, but is readily available in the USA. Diamond Tec is currently undergoing a revision to its coating and we have been told by Prestige to expect it to be out in March 2013.

98.5% of infrared rejection vs. ceramics at 70%-85% depending on brand. Conventional dyed window tint only has infrared rejection rating of 20%-30%, so this is quite significant in its performance over the products on the market.

Even on this shade of 65%, it will still block off 98.5% of infrared. No longer do you need to go with a dark tint to get exceptional heat rejection.

In this photo, you can see how clear the film is. The front quarter panels are covered, but the doors are not and there is no discernible difference between the two.

A shot of PhotoSync Nano Tint 65% on the rear glass. For a car like this, everyone deserves to get the best product on their car. Even at 65% with Spectra PhotoSync, it will block out an impressive 98.5% of infrared while most regular tints only obtain 20%-30%.
