First drive review: Porsche 911 Carrera 4S Cabriolet
Two reviews: Porsche 911 Carrera 4S Cabriolet
Just saw this on Autocar:
"As a purist’s choice, we’d still opt for the cheaper, lighter and slightly more thrilling manual C2S coupé. But the all-wheel-drive 911 offers precisely the blend of entertainment and reassurance that many will want of a high-end sports car that will also be a daily driver. It’s the best all-wheel-drive 911 yet."

This on Autoexpress:
"The new Porsche 911 isn’t quite the purist driving tool it once was, but in almost every other respect it’s a better car. A third of 911s sold are four-wheel drive. And given the remit of the latest 991-generation model to be more usable, practical and comfortable, as well as leaner, meaner yet greener than before; this latest Carrera 4S takes that mission and runs with it. Whatever the weather."

Dude I'm so disappointed in the first review (autocar) that I'm almost afraid to read the second one...
That said, it doesn't sound like she's used to 911's... "the 991 has a "jarring" ride in sport +
hahahaha clearly she's never driven a 996 or 997 GT variant!
And then there's the pictures... what's up with the wind deflector up in all the shots... damn she driving on a country road and slowly at that (because of the photo shoot) what the hell does she need that deflector for!
And then of course the shot with the wing up... on the ONLY rear shot of the NEW C4S!!!
That damn wing has a hard time not looking like someone left the trunk lid open on a good day, never mind on a photo shoot!
Well at least all the windows are down.
OK now one to the next review... God I hope it's better this one.

Somebody really needs to tell her you can actually RAISE seats!

I was reluctant to post a link as reviews are all so subjective. Take it all with a pinch of salt and a large gin and tonic! Savour the good and toss the rest! The only review that really matters is the one you do.
I think the 4 is going to be stunning. I've got aesthetic concerns but I think pictures that ive seen don't portray the car well. I'm sure when I see it for real it will look great.
Relax and enjoy the experience.

No worries, waiting for a damn year clearly has an effect on my nerves.

Thanks for posting the links!
Seems that 4 does not make any sense.... No one is going to drive it in the snow with summer tires.... I hope they come out with the rear wheel drive turbo ;-)

A 4 makes absolute sense in my mind- for a few reasons, and this is the one I want. Slam dunk.
Summer tires in the winter aside.... personally I think there's a reason why the R8, Gallardo, GTR, 911 Turbo etc all have awd... and non of those ever get these ridiculous comments of "it's too heavy... why would you need it... it has terrible under-steer... it's for people who can't drive... it's not as much fun..."
All nonsense...as mentioned above, the C4S is in good company.
To each there own...but if you can't see the beauty in this... there's something wrong with you!

It's one of those "if you have to explain..." scenarios.
