Im a V1 owner myself and ill stick with it but the 9500 took the cake for that trip.
dude i wish you would have mounted a k40 360i, 9500ci and a V1 that would have been the ultimate test!

Been there. Done that. Multiple sports cars riding together from DC to Canada. All in radio contact. V1 put the others to shame and also focused everyone on the direction of the threat instead of everyone looking around in an unfocused frenzy.

You can read all about the nightmares of Cobra detectors here, as well as find some unbiased good data on many detector types. Certainly no one Brand without its group of detractors.....but Cobra and RMR seem to have the lionshare.

When the Escort announces that I am approaching a red light camera, I like the 9500iX a lot.

Also, whenever I drive by a school, I tap it to program the 9500iX to announce it next time I approach that same school zone.

Very real ticket threats. V1 has no solution.

Viking, thats super super super strange, I have a 9500ci mounted with line of sight inside the center plastic and my friend has a v1 and i would consistently out read his radar by 200-250 feet every time, we have rentacops in our community who run around in their mustangs trying to give everyone tickets and I know some of the security guards after living here for 15 plus years and the Ka band on the 9500ci is hands down way better than the v1, the problem with the 9500ci is if you don't have a custom made bracket with line of sight, the v1 will always be better imho.
